Philanthropy (from Greek φιλανθρωπία) etymologically means “love of humanity” in the sense of caring, nourishing, developing and enhancing “what it is to be human” on both the benefactors’ (by identifying and exercising their values in giving and volunteering) and beneficiaries’ (by benefiting) parts. The most conventional modern definition is “private initiatives, for public good, focusing on quality of life”. (source: wikipedia.org)
At Lemire Investments we believe that an important part of success is being able to give back to the communities and the ones in need. Therefore, an important portion of our company’s revenue is allocated to this commitment. We are involved in different projects at different levels but mainly trough Kiva.org, One Drop and Water.org . We are working on several initiatives that will require our team members to get their feet wet and hands on the job at the field level especially in certain parts of Africa.
